The Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition will be sporting a cast-aluminum V8 engine capable of running on biofuel. The burning of ethanol in biofuel has the positive side effect of cooling the combustion chambers. This combined with a higher octane rating provides the enviro-friendly Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition supercar with 1,018hp at 7,200rpm and peak torque of 1,060Nm at 6,100rpm. The 4.7L engine features a four-valve double overhead cam design with a compression ratio of 8.2:1 and a sequential multipoint fuel injection. Twin Rotrex centrifugal superchargers provide up to 1.5 bar boost pressure. The combined highway/city fuel cycle stands at 10.7mpg (22L/100km). Accelerating from 0-100km/h takes approximately 2.9 seconds and the top speed is claimed to be above 400km/h. We can’t wait to see some official times, and, if you must know, the price tag is around the €1.5 million mark.
