priced in the region of US$100,000, the ZR1 is
more than just a Z06 with a supercharger and
some go-fast aero parts bolted on. The goal of
GM was to modify the character of the car and
build something that could be used every day yet

Underneath the hood lies a new LS9 V8 engine
with a displacement of “only” 6.2L compared to
the 7L engine found in the Z06.

people at 9ff have the Bugatti Veyron clearly in
their sights with their new Porsche 9FF GT9 set
to enter the record books as the world’s fastest
production car with a claimed top speed in
excess of 250mph. As far as production cars go,
the Porsche 9FF GT9 is about as exclusive as it
gets, with only 20 examples expected to see the
light and each priced at $853,634. Although the
car is loosely based on a Porsche 911, its
mechanical package has been totally revised.

Racing has created a do-it-yourself kit car,
which owners can build with the powerplant of
their choice ranging from 350hp to 515hp which
inclutes the Corvette Z06 engine. The Factory
Five Racing GTM supercar is a ready-to-drive V8
powered, mid-engine car with a composite body
shell and an aluminum and steel tube frame
chassis. The car’s final kerb weight is
2,250lbs.

cast-aluminum V8 engine capable of running on
biofuel. The burning of ethanol in biofuel has
the positive side effect of cooling the
combustion chambers. This combined with a higher
octane rating provides the enviro-friendly
Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition supercar with
1,018hp at 7,200rpm and peak torque of 1,060Nm
at 6,100rpm.

supercharger is expected to pump 650hp out of
the 6.2L V8, making the ZR-1 the most powerful
Corvette yet. The Dodge Viper SRT10 cranks out

engineers first set about improving the engine
by installing two new turbochargers, carbon
suction pipes, and made to measure intercoolers.
Then they add a stainless steel exhaust system
with special manifolds and high performance
catalytic converters as well as a high-flow
sports air filter.

The Hyundai
Genesis Coupe will be the second RWD model from
Hyundai, the first being the Genesis sedan due
for launch at the end of the year. Both Hyundai
Genesis versions will be based on the same
platform, which means the Hyundai Genesis Coupe
will get a 3.8L V6 engine with more than 300hp.
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe concept features a
carbon fiber hood, roof and ground effects for
reduced weight, a wheelbase of 111in and 20in
five-spoke alloys.
